Introducing Iggy Pup and the rest of his family…. In August of 2010, I was lucky enough to adopt this funny little guy (sight unseen from a shelter in Tennessee) and he’s turned our world around! Iggy’s shelter name was Rigatoni, but I couldn’t see myself calling for a pasta so I shortened it to Iggy Pup. We weren’t very familiar with the breed then or we would have known iggy was a generic term. Even given our lack of creativity in the name, it works. My husband, a confirmed cat lover, was rather put off by my adopting another dog but now he is as Iggy crazy as anyone. The amount of time spent researching the breed, finding the right foods, etc would amaze anyone who knew the grumpy anti-dog man he was previously. Iggy is just the most loveable, funny, crazy and wonderful little guy that he now has a huge neighborhood fan club and has melted even the hardest hearts of the jaded neighborhood cats. Without further ado…this is Iggy:

Iggy has an older sister. Sophie is a beautiful, Turkish Van cat who outweighs Iggy by a third of his body weight. I found Sophie crying in the middle of the street one day and tried to catch her but was unable. I put out a bed and food for her and soon found Sophie and two kittens in the bed. The kittens went to a good family and our sweet Sophie stayed here. She and Iggy play and are very good company for each other. Occasionally, she gets tired of the play and hides on top of the refrigerator for a respite.
